The CAT3 rust protection system is very effective at controlling the progression of rust but it does not alter the appearance of the rusted chassis. In order to beautify the chassis and remove the rusty appearance other treatments will have to be used. Listed below are the treatments available from ParkHomeProtection which will not only improve the appearance of the chassis but also offer alternatives to the CAT3 when it is not appropriate due to power supply issues.
This superb product is based upon tannic acid and co-polymers and is used extensively in the oil and marine environment. It is standard practice for it to be used on oil tankers for maintenance whilst at sea. It is a fully primed finish and is able to accept most paint finishes, however in less demanding environments it can be left uncoated. It is ideal for treating and stabilising existing rust on older park homes. It reduces the work load of the CAT unit and therefore makes the system more efficient.
When people buy galvanised products they assume that they will last forever. This is not the case and the typical galvanised product with a thickness of 80-120 microns can lose up to 8 microns a year in harsh coastal environments. If you bear in mind that the protection reduces as the thickness approaches 20 microns there may be less than 8 years protection if the initial loading is only 80 microns. The Cat system will reduce the rate of Zinc loss but in older park homes reloading with Zinga would prove very beneficial. Zinga can be applied by brush or spray and carries BB A and Landrover approval.
This is an amazingly effective product, so don't be fooled by its silly name, for over 25 years it has proven highly effective at sealing those hard to find leaks in almost any join you can imagine. It is ultra thin and due to its strong capillary action will penetrate deeply into joins, drying to a clear and durable film that is impervious to water. Ideal for treating body joints on park homes. It is very cost effective and efficient.
PHP or one of its agents follow a prescribed process to ensure that consistent and effective results are achieved. The treatment of your park home will be as follows:
The CAT3 Electronic Rust Protection system carries a three year replacement warranty. The Oxycon coating has a long effective life, the duration of which is dependant upon the location and environment. However, when the CAT3 unit is used in conjunction with the Oxycon the combined system improves in performance. The workload of the CAT3 unit decreased and the durability of the Oxycon is improved.
